Reporting to the President of our Personal Care Lines (PCL) at Amedisys, the Vice President of Operations of PCL at Amedisys plays a leadership role in PCL's s operations by providing administrative oversight for all core and ancillary operations. The COO is responsible for the day-to-day operations of PCL and works closely with the senior leadership team to determine long-term institutional objectives, develop a strategy to achieve those objectives, and effectively communicate the strategy throughout the organization. She/he is responsible for department leaders in establishing a measure of performance, increase productivity, quality improvement, cost controls and efficient utilization of resources. Will serve as the primary operational liaison and point of coordination between support functions, corporate departments, external government agencies on a wide range of clinical, programmatic, and/or administrative issues on behalf of the President of PCL. This position is responsible for successfully fulfilling Amedisys' personal care mission and effective oversight of the various operating units and support team components. Establish and implement standard operating procedures and best practices to drive business results.. Essential Functions:. Plays a lead role in executing PCL's vision for client care delivery that is consistent with accepted national practice standards and regulatory requirements for all of PCL; and responsible to ensure the most effective overall quality of care and define initiatives to continue to improve care with accountability to provide timely updates to PCL leadership and Amedisys' executive team.. Acts as the primary administrative contact for PCL's leaders and employees, especially department heads. Collaborates with PCL's senior leadership team to discover new solutions, implement best practices and proactively address opportunities for improvement to enhance systems and operations.. Responsible for clients and family services initiatives at PCL, overseeing the local functioning of corporate operational systems and expanding revenue performance.. Assumes line responsibility and authority for the administrative direction, evaluation, and coordination of the functions and activities of assigned departments within the organization to ensure operation objectives and results are in accordance with overall PCL needs.. Sets the standard for PCL in terms of organization, follow-through, work ethic, customer relations, responsiveness, action-orientation, professional behavior, and compliance with policies.. Oversees and leads employee-focused management functions related to hiring, on-boarding/orientation, coaching/development, staffing, work assignments, employee relations, and performance management as guided by company policy and procedures. Proactively communicates with staff and keeps them informed on a regular basis or as needed.. Plays lead role in the development and execution of PCL's vision, goals, and other new business ventures.. Assures that PCL meets and exceeds all applicable regulatory requirements of agencies and assumes responsibility for the readiness of PCL to meet all inspections, surveys, and review - including state licensure, federal certifications, and accreditations by implementing the company's systems, policies, and standards.. Partners closely with leaders locally and enterprise-wide to execute and support PCL's strategic and tactical plans across the organization.. Develops and manages a highly capable and committed management team that shares a passion for highest quality client-centered care; multi-stakeholder collaboration; process improvement; financial accountability; caregiver/employee engagement and satisfaction.. Monitors and evaluates employees' performance. Holds employees accountable for the attainment of defined goals and objectives. Executes effective performance redirection where appropriate.. Qualifications. Qualifications:. Required:. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Nursing or related field.. Five (5+) years of upper management experience in healthcare (personal care preferably).. Demonstrated experience in the implementation of company initiatives with proven positive outcomes.. Demonstrated teaching ability and business acumen.. Strong business acumen coupled with a deep understanding of the linkage between excellent customer care and financial or business performance.. Experience with regulatory compliance.. Experience hiring, developing, and motivating a high-performing team.. Preferred:. Master's degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Nursing or related field.. Experience overseeing multi-site/multi-market health care delivery programs, and a track record of effective and transparent healthcare operations management.. A track record of successful personal care design and oversight; and experience working within a performance- or risk-based contracting model.. Travel:. Frequent degree of travel..
