Intelligent Manufacturing Systems (IMS) is a division of INFICON that makes industry-leading scheduling and visualization software to optimize semiconductor manufacturing.

Looking for someone with experience in factory automation software to help support an existing product and to help debug customer's problems with this product. The product is a Windows application written mainly in C++. The majority of our customers are semiconductor manufacturing facilities (fabs). The most common method for communication between our software and equipment in the fab uses the Semiconductor Equipment Communication Standard (SECS) and related SEMI standards. Other types of communication include: Equipment Data Acquisition (EDA, also called Interface A), OPC, Tibco Rendezvous, etc.


  • Provide support to external and internal users of our software products
  • Debug communication and other problems at customers (usually remotely via VPN, ticket system, phone, email, etc.)
  • Work with developers to fix problems
  • Test software communication and other features using commercial and homemade simulation tools
  • Qualifications

  • Experience with complex, non-consumer software, preferably in advanced manufacturing
  • Experience with factory automation communication, including but not limited to SECS, EDA, OPC, etc.
  • Experience with Fault Detection and Classification (FDC) is a plus
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), such as PROMIS, CamStar, etc. is a plus
  • Experience debugging C++ using Visual Studio in Windows is a plus
  • Ability to perform independently as well as part of a team
